    3. hi george - oh, please, what's this "butting in" stuff. our discussions are open and we always appreciate more info and questions. as i've explained to David, the information i have passed along about Dyal was from my county map book. David's father was a pastor in Dyal and, hopefully, he will be able to advise us more closely on directions, locations, etc! my map is from a county map book that i bought a year or so ago. the last information i had on the publisher is: County Maps N2454 County Rd HH Lyndon Station, Wi. 53944 (608)666-3331 they did not have "all states", but i needed florida and north carolina, which they had. i think the cost was about $16 or $17. hopefully, when the crew on the flnecemetery list get pretty much through with the duval county area cemeteries, we can get some of the same excellent information accumulated for the nassau county cemeteries. unless, of course, some of our list folks - when visiting the nassau county cemeteries looking for relatives - can do a survey of the cemetery while they're there and send the information on to patti peterson to post it on the Nassau County, Fla page of the Tombstone Transcription Project! julie ----- Original Message ----- From: George Thomas To: [email protected] ; Tony and Julie Howell ; [email protected] Sent: Wednesday, July 18, 2001 7:54 PM Subject: Dyal Cemetery To All, Pardon me for butting in but I have a question and some input on Dyal cemetery. The question is for Julie and the town of Dyal. My father was born at Dyal Station in 1905 and I have been told that this town no longer exist. Did you find Dyal on a Nassau County map? If so, what is the date of this map. On to Bethel/Dyal cemetery. My uncle Drew passed away in 1935 and according to his obituary he was buried in Dyal cemetery. My grandparents, my parents an aunt and several uncles (including Drew) are buried in the family plot in Bethel cemetery. One of these uncles who passed away in 1941 is buried in Bethel cemetery, according to his obituary. Does this mean the name of this cemetery was changed between 1935 and 1941? Do not know. I am sure I have mudded the waters a little bit more. Dyal appears to be about halfway in between Callahan and Hilliard. > > Alternate directions, take US 1/301 out of Callahan, go past Sauls Road (which will be on your right), go over a bridge and turn left onto a graded road. that graded road will, apparently, dead end into the (half-circle) graded road mentioned above. when it does, turn left. there should be a church with a cemetery on your left. > > if you make it back, having followed these directions, please let me know. i will try to contain my amazement (not really) that you were able to find it. it might be a good idea to take a flare gun just in case. (just kidding...sort of.) > > hopefully someone on our list has some great directions complete with signs to follow, etc. > > happy trails, > julie > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: jangil1 > To: [email protected] > Sent: Wednesday, July 18, 2001 10:43 AM > Subject: Re: Julie Re: [FLDUVAL] Dyal Cemetery > > > Julie, > Thanks for the directions to Jones Cemetery.
