    3. hi jo - it seems i've heard, "way back when", about there being a cemetery on the mayport base. ed taylor in pittsburgh may know something about that one since the mayport base used to be the plantation of his ancestors. ed, if you're reading this, do you have any info on a cemetery that is on the base at mayport? yeah, i know what you mean about "the good old days." my (now grown) children roll their eyes and get that "here she goes again" look whenever i start in on how "they used to do something." admittedly, i do sometimes feel like i'm dragging out my dad's "i used to have to walk through miles of snow" story. now that it think of that one, there must have been a bazillion kids walking through knee deep snow all over the place. it's a wonder they didn't all run into each other! take care, julie ----- Original Message ----- From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Sent: Sunday, July 22, 2001 9:54 AM Subject: Re: [FLDUVAL] CEMETERIES Hi Julie, Thanks for the information, hon, most thankful for all the help. The Cemetery I had mentioned at the Navy base is out at Mayport. When I was a kid they called it east Mayport and the Navy base was in there then but we were aloud to go to the big jetties to swim but then they stopped us from going in at all.So nice of the government to just up and take what they want with no regards to how the people feel about it.They ruin the good old days in my opinion. Also I will have to look for my map that shows Potters Field cem. on it. I'll get back to you on your question as soon as I find it. Yours Friendly......Jo.
