good morning lists - i've been taking advantage of some "slow time" on the various email lists and have been working on my cemetery notebook. i've now got information on about 96 cemeteries/burial sites in duval county. my process has been to take the list of cemeteries from lucy edwards book "grave markers of duval county" (that ed taylor posted for us some time back) and various lists from dianne's messages, and from the u.s. geological survey, comparing all of the names and compiling cohesive information as to their locations, duplicate names, etc. i have a question for y'all and i'd really like to hear your opinions on these two points: 1. we have one cemetery called the Brunson Family Cemetery. (its on the tax rolls as "Marietta Cemeteries"). this cemetery is located at the corner of Maple Street and Greenland Avenue (off of w. beaver st just past i-295.) McCargo street is the next street west of the cemetery. one of the lists of cemetery names that i have has a Greenland cemetery. no further information is given about it except the name. my question: what are your opinions as to whether the Brunson Family Cemetery could be the "Greenland" cemetery mentioned on one of the name lists that i have? 2. Fulton Cemetery is on several of the name lists. there was a note that it may be located across from 13241 ft. caroline road. i have contacted the (very nice) owner of the property across from 13241 and they have no knowledge of there being any signs of a cemetery on their property. i also have copies of plats and tax roll information on a cemetery located between Woodsong Loop Road and Beacon Drive. the location of this, as yet un-named, cemetery is about 1 block from Fulton Road. Fulton road runs off of ft. caroline road toward the river, where the settlement of Fulton was once located. my question: what are your opinions about the possibility of the cemetery located on Woodsong Loop Road actually being the Fulton Cemetery mentioned on some of the cemetery name-lists? i will be happy to provide copies of the paperwork/plats/maps, should you need them, to anyone who is interested in offering their opinions on these points. please let me know what y'all think. julie thames howell jax, fla
