Hanbury Walker of Jacksonville was the son of Thomas Walker of Augusta Georgia, "The Marrying Parson." Their family line can be tentatively traced back to Joseph Walker (he signed his name IW) of pre-Revolutionary times in Edgefield, SC. The family also had close ties with the family of Samuel Walker and Martha-Jefferson Bell. Hanbury Walker probably lived his entire life in Jacksonville. His father, according to the 1930 Census was an accountant and the family lived at 2354 Riverside Avenue. The mother was Zelda and the other children were Mattie, Jacqueline, Zelma, and Geraldine Walker.
