    3. Hi Ann, Thanks for your response. I had Googled her but found only familiar information that I already knew. I'm not a member of Ancestry.com so I have not seen her obit. Did you know her or her partner Mary Graff? When did you graduate from Lee High School? And, what brought you to Texas? thanks, Phil p.s. I'm not a Lee graduate. I went to Wolfson on the southside. I started high school at Landon. 3. Hey, Phil. I have recently been delving into the records at the Jax public library. There is a death index compiled from Florida Times Union records. Should be fairly easy to locate Miss Cowles' obituary using that and the microfilms of the paper. If no one else volunteers, I would be glad to do it next time I'm in Jax, which should be within the next month. If you are in a hurry, the people on the desk of the Florida Collection might be willing to look for it. Another idea: The Lee class of 1962 is having a 45th Reunion in July, so they have a good mailing list. Remembering teachers and coaches should be part of a reunion. Maybe someone can be found to locate obits not only for Miss Cowles (also my husband Sam's favorite teacher ever) but also others. I'm sending this to the organizers to see what they think and whether they will use their email list to solicit teacher names and memories of teachers and recruit one or more researcher-volunteers to gather the info. They may even have such an effort in the works. Best regards, Barbara Buckman Williams > From: "Philip M.
