Gertrude Patrick was a childhood friend of mine from MA. Her husband Larry Patrick died in 2002 or so and she was quite despondent. I just checked the SSDI and found a Gertrude Patrick d, 23 Oct 2004 in Jacksonville, FL. Her telephone has been disconnected for awhile and so I think my friend has passed on. Born on May 15, 1929 in Boston, Ma., she graduated from Regis College in Weston, Ma. and later earned a Masters Degree in Education Administration from the Univ. of N. Florida. For over 35 years, she was an educator beginning at Christ the King School and retiring from the Duval County School System where she was involved in many aspects to improve and maintain high quality teaching techniques. She was involved in many facets of the Christ the King Parish over many years, which included Cub and Girl Scouts, Eucharistic Minister, Adult Education and St. Vincent de Paul Society. Gertrude remained active in her retirement years enjoying, golfing, gardening and her volunteer work. A loving mother and grandmother, she leaves behind to cherish her memory her children Paul C.
