May I suggest that persons asking for help in locating their ancestors should give us all the information they now know, for instance, we will need as much of the full name as possible, location and approximate date. Sometimes the ethnicity, family size, occupation, religion, etc. can help us help them. It is just not reasonable to give us a blank slate and expect as miracle.
