Does anyone know where Fisher's Corner is? thanks, Kathy Thompson Kjt54@aol.com
What a great find. Is it possible that you would consider donating it to the genealogical section at the Jacksonville Library so that it can be made generally available? I have tried to find yearbooks of Lee High School from the early 1930s with no luck at the school or the school board. Does anyone know a source? I do know something about the Lee High School yearbooks of the early 1930s. My father was a 1933 graduate of Lee, and he said there was no yearbook produced because of the Depression. I once saw a group photo of the 1933 Lee graduation class that was published in a newspaper, and it has poor resolution and the faces are small. I am not certain that no yearbook or other informal booklet might have been produced, but I suspect that the same conditions affected high schools all of the country. Philip Smith College Station, Tex.
hey im not sure if my grandparents attended or not but could you check for a Wallace Randall and Ellen Randolph.... thanks ...Serena Randall
I also found a photograph taken during WWII probably at the Naval Air Station in Jax. I don't know anyone in the picture, however, written on the back are the names: "Duke" Donkakis "Johnny" Owens Arnold Allemand Chas Bass G. M. Kelly Stanley Fleszar Jim Makrianes George Hyfantis Jene (or Jere) Neville Bob Healey ( or Hesley) Red Gibson Kovanocus Koerner If anybody knows of anyone here, please let me know. While visiting with my 80 year old mother this weekend, I found the yearbook of my grandmother from Duval High School. It's called the Oracle and it's from 1921. If anyone is looking for someone who may have attended that school, please let me know and I'll look them up for you. Nancy Freel Michaluk

THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK ON GETTING THE DIRECTORIES ON LINE. GREAT JOB !!!!!!!!!!!
Outstanding!! Thank you, Susan, for that wonderful link. I knew that the Jax Public Library has been wanting to get a lot of their material online, but have been so busy with many other things for so long that I wasn't aware they have made such excellent progress. I want to say thank you all for the help I found out my grandfather lived at 35 W Landon S. Jacksonville, FL in 1933 and 1934 and he was married to someone name Eliz and he was a carp (I think carpenter). Thank you again, Margie ----- Original Message ----- From: Tony & Julie Howell To: Margie King Sent: Tuesday, February 21, 2006 8:22 PM Subject: Re: [FLDUVAL] Need help with loction in 1933/1934 Landon Avenue is in the San Marco area and runs from the St. Johns River in an easterly direction across Hendricks Ave ending at King Street. Landon (now Middle School - used to be Landon High School) is at the corner of Landon Ave and Thacker Ave but, if my memory is correct, the school faces Thacker. It's hard to tell if Landon Avenue extended across the area where Interstate 95 now cuts through that area. If you have an address that designates "east" or "west" I can only suppose that it may be that the numbers on the west side of Hendricks Avenue were "west" and those on the east side of Hendricks "east."
