    1. [FLDUVAL] Friedland/Reagan Marriage; Duval County, 1928
    2. Fred Hagan
    3. Mildred C. Reagan married a Mr. Friedland in Duval County in 1928. Only Mildred C. Friedland is listed in the 1930 Census. Mildred was 15 years old at the time. This marriage is listed in the Florida Marriage Collection, 1822-1875 and 1922-2001, Vol: 56; Num: 14894; year: 1928. This is in the "R" listing. I am looking for Mr. Friedland's given name and his birth place but don't know how to access the "F" listings in this database. Can anyone do that for me and e-mail me the information? Tks, Fred Hagan

    2. Have you considered Nassau County? There are quite a few Geigers there and it is not so far from Yellow Bluff. Haven't checked Nassau County cemeteries lately, but it seems that there might be one for the Geigers. Northern Duval County and Nassau County are both accessible to the river, intracoastal waterway or ocean, if your relative travelled by water to conduct business. Betty Pickren

    3. Thank you Betty. I think Clifford S. Geiger's father was John Geiger who was the J. P. at her marriage. Her family must be buried somewhere near Yellow Bluffs. Anthony Ferguson and son John J. had a boat that made trips to the Keys for fruit and vegetables while Thomas farmed in Duval for awhile before going to Orange County. The twins, John and Thomas, served in the Confederate army, the former losing his left arm at the Battle of Chancellorsville. 2. The only thing I can contribute is that the Yellow Bluff area is in northern Duval County. It runs from U.S. 17 to New Berlin Road. It would have been very rural in the late 1800's and even until the last 4-5 years. There are quite a few old cemeteries out in the general area. Betty Pickren

    3. Nancy, No, unfortunately I don't know anything about the Geigers. I don't even know the parents of Clifford Geiger Ferguson. She was born in Aug.1848 in GA and died in 1917 St. Johns Co. FL. There were so many Geigers in Duval County. Her husband was the twin brother of my children's gr-gr-grandfather so my interest is really the Ferguson line. In one of her letters to her husband's nephew, she talks about her 3 daughters marrying, and the death of her "dear Clarence" who was probably a brother possibly Clarence Geiger. 3. I told you the Librarians at the JPL are great! They found it! Wayne W. Wood. Jacksonville's Architectural Heritage: Landmarks for the Future. Revised edition 1996. (various places: University Press of Florida, 1989), pp 149 Riverside House (first known as the "Rochester House") - The article has 3 pictures of it from 1875-1976. It states that was moved between 1903-1913 up the St. Johns River to its present site and was altered. The address stated at the beginning of the article is 2107 River Blvd. I can't do it in the next few weeks, but if you want a picture of it as it stands now, I will try to see if I can find it and take a picture. Let me know. You can see a picture of it in 1875 by going to the Florida Memory Project http://www.floridamemory.com/PhotographicCollection/ Put RC03049 in the search block. This photo is the same as the first one in the above book. Hope this helps!
