Does anyone have any information about the old "Parson's Cemetery"? I have McDowell relatives buried there. Martha
Hi list, I hope every one had a safe and happy New Year! My Great Grandmother Kristina Rasmussen died in Jacksonville in 1946. I have her obit from the news paper thanks to you great folks on this list. I wonder if her Death Certificate would give me anymore information. I have never seen one so I have no clue as to what is on it. Can someone tell me where I would write to and what form I would need to use. Is there a site on the web that I could get the form from?

Di; Sorry, I forgot about the no attachments on the list. The Bigelow family cemetery here in Arlington is just around the corner from my parents house where I grew up on Floral Bluff Road not far from Jacksonville University. It is a very small cemetery with only a few graves, surrounded by a chain link fence, but the gate is not locked, and never has been since I was a small child. I think that there are still family members in the Jacksonville area, because it has been maintained in the past years. All of this area, which is River Forest, used to be the Bigelow Plantation at one time, although I have never seen any historical information. v/r Cary Williamson
Cary, You cannot send attachments to the Rootsweb mailing list. You can print the entire list and email, or you can send it via offline email. The listing of verified burial sites that I have now tops 170- with another 30 being "repeats" meaning known by other names. Okay Susan, I'll keep an eye out for more. Di > Hi Di, > I don't think this one is kin to me . The other one is quite Possiable. I > have > 2 HARTLEY FAMILIES AND 1 ORTEGAS FAMILY there in Duval Co. > Supposed to be 2 different lines of Hartley's that married each other. > > Thanks, > Susan > >
Harriet, Ferreira Cemetery is on Starratt Rd. Which is on the North end of town, in the Oceanway Community. We need to survey this cemetery, but again I am waiting for volunteers and warmer weather. Anything I can help you with? Di > Di, do you know where the Ferreira Memorial Cemetery is? > > Harriett >
Harriet; Here is a list that I saved from the Jacksonville.com (Florida Time-Union) web site back in 1997 which lists most, but not all cemeteries in Jacksonville, including the Ferreira cemetery. The "findagrave.com" web site is a good place to find cemeteries and graves of persons also, provided that someone has entered them into the web site database. v/r Cary Williamson
Hi Di, I don't think this one is kin to me . The other one is quite Possiable. I have 2 HARTLEY FAMILIES AND 1 ORTEGAS FAMILY there in Duval Co. Supposed to be 2 different lines of Hartley's that married each other. Thanks, Susan
If anyone reading this knows Charles "Charley" Braham or his wife Eva Braham that once lived on Dyal St., Phoenix Ave., and Bridier St. here in Jacksonville or any of their friends or family, please contact me via my email address. They were both born in WV and both worked at the Bassett furniture factory in Martinsville, VA. They moved to Jacksonville about 1968. Eva is buried in Restlawn Memorial Park Cem. in the Lake Forest area of Jacksonville and died in 1980.
Di, do you know where the Ferreira Memorial Cemetery is? Harriett
Susan, The other Coreatha's plaque didn't show up in the film- seems to have been too bright. It was only a funeral marker from a funeral home, with the name Coreatha Gibson on it. I can get the dates from my information if you are interested. I think the funeral home was Dorman's. Want me to check? Hi Diane, Thanks I would like to have both. You would not reconize Apalach now. It has started to grow and the tourist are taking it over. But it is still a pretty town. A lot of old history here goes way back so that is how they are trying to build it up. My snail mail is as follows Susan Cole P.O.Box 492 Apalachicola, Fl 32329-0492 Thanks again, Susan
Susan, I used to go to a place called Sumatra, in the forest there, we had a cabin in the woods and I LOVED it there. Been a long time since we were in Appalachicola area. A very long time! I'll be happy to send you a jpeg by computer - also- if you want a hard copy, just email a mailing address and I will send it by regular post as well. I have to download the photos to the hard drive and will send it before Sunday night. Have a good weekend and a safe New Years! Dianne > Hi Diane, > I live in NW Florida in fact in Apalachicola, FL. What was your Mom's full name? That may be a place to start. Obelia
Dear Susan, No Hon, I don't. Everything I know I typed and sent. If you are not local I can snap a photo of the marker, and email. But, I have no other information. I don't even know what funeral home performed the burial. Dianne > Hi do you have any thing else on the Corethea Hartley Spivey in this > cemetery?? > > Thanks, > Susan Cole > >
