    3. Ron,Hope all is well,i have a data bank with many union soldiers also,my mother was born in Minnesota, then to North Dakota when a baby,i've found many ancestors from the north. The Civil War prisons on both sides were no place to be.It amazes me what so many had to endure in that war,all wars for that matter.I am involved with my Sons of Confederate Veterans camp alot,we clean and replace broken stones, have memorial services,we have even done the same for the union soldiers when we come across them.Sounds like i am tootin my horn,i'm not it is just something i am glad to do.Anyway take care...David J Mikell ----- Original Message ----- From: Ron Smith To: [email protected] Sent: 5/6/01 7:07:22 PM Subject: Re: Re: [FLDUVAL] Jacksonville Fire of 1901 Hi David, No attachment intended. I had you in my address book. I think we wrote before concerning Apalachicola or the Civil War. Regards, David in Apalachicola, Fl. When you mentioned the Civil War - I remembered that I had passed your information to my wife for action since (sadly) all of my relatives were in the Union Army. You are doing a great service to the list. Please keep up the good work David. As a side note: I found out recently that my 2nd Great-Granduncle died 27 July 1864 at Andersonville Prison. 1. [FLDUVAL] Yukon Cemetery
    2. I'm new to this so please forgive me if my request is out of order. I am just trying to get the word out in hopes of obtaining any information I can. I am working with the Jacksonville Historical Commission to have an old (mid 1800's) abandoned Afro-American cemetery considered for historical designation. This cemetery was used by the residents of the "Black Point" settlement, later known as "Yukon". This community was disbanded when the land was turned into NAS-Jax. We have established a direct relationship with many buried there to the "Mulberry Grove Plantation" after emancipation. If any has any information on Mulberry Grove or the Black Point settlement before or during the War between the States it would be most appreciated. Thanks Holly

    3. Kathy, You might want to check with the Clay County School Board, which is who would retain the archives for Orange Park Schools. The phone # is Clay County Schools (904) 284-6500 The records for the time frame you are referencing are sketchy at best. If this does not pan out, please e-mail me privately and I will check with some private sources to see if someone can help you. His mother later moved to Dania?, Florida to live with Grandpa Gorden(married? or not )thats all I know of his name - Grandpa Gorden worked for the Railroad in some way because he was responsible for a stretch of tracks near where he lived in Dania. It is suppose to be a very very very small town - a whistle stop as my mother described it. No one in my family remembers when They died.. No one remembers much of anything. I am trying to get a copy of my fathers birthcertificate or ss# but it is taking forever. They have cashed my checks but I have recieved nothing. Cole, You are infected with the "[email protected]" virus. I received THREE infected e-mails within TWO minutes. Please take corrective measures before sending out any further infected e-mail to any one or any list on the Internet! My personal preference is Norton's AntiVirus - it has saved me from each of your virus infected e-mails. To the FLDUVAL list -- BEWARE! The messages from David reference the most welcomed post by Elwood Padgett who provided the list with two great reference URL's. David's e-mail's simply quoted Elwood's post and added "Take a look to the attachment." If you opened that attachment you were immediately infected with the virus. For additional information about the virus in David's e-mails please read the Norton AntiVirus Report attached. Good luck to the list - I hope this virus bites the dust SOON! 2. Hello: I realize that this request may be out of line but I would very greatly appreciate some assistance. According to family oral history, the following ancestor died possibly in the Miami Florida area in the time frame of 1920s to 1930s. Name: CHARLES AUGUSTUS BLASE I may be expecting too much when I ask if anyone on this list has any information, such as date of death, place of death, and place of burial, of this individual. As an alternative if someone could suggest sources which I could contact for the requested information and, hopefully, a copy of the applicable obituary, I would be most appreciative. Your cooperation and assistance will be most welcomed. Robert Peterson e-mail address: [email protected]
