    2. Hey Deborah! The most economical way to search for a death index is by going to a Florida library and look at the microfilms for the years you think it might be. By doing this you can get the certificate number for the death certificate. I have done this many of times and know it works great and saves you money and time. 3. I am looking for information on Ida Rosalie Hurley Badger. In 1956 she was living with Mrs. Phil F. Powelson, Jr in Jacksonville. I think that was her daughter (not sure). Her death certificate shows she died as Ida Rosalie Hurley while living on Albot Ave Jacksonville, Fl. I think she died in May of 1956. Would appreciate any information on either one of these ladies. Ida was my ggrandmother. Larry

    3. The Florida Times Union has obits online from 1997 to date, if that's a help for anyone. 3. The library does have index books for the Florida Times Union newspaper obits. The books are by year. Not all years have an index for it's obits, but most do.

    3. Does the Jax Library have any type of necrology index available - expecially on-line? The TIme Union Archives are of little help for the older information needed. South Bend (Indiana) and Tampa (FL) both have ones and they are truly an asset for those of us who do not live in the area where we want to research! Thanks, Mary

    3. Can anyone help with this? Not too long ago there were several people who volunteered to transcribe stuff. Even if all you have MS Word (if you don't have WordPerfect), could you email Alvie and maybe you set up a test. Where you could transcribe a few lines, then send him a Word file and have Alvie test the translation between MS Word and WordPerfect.
