    1. Obit request ~ may be easily done in California, not here.
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/EZ.2ADI/1214.1.1.1 Message Board Post: You had learned the month & year of death from SSDI. I provided the exact DAY of death --- 28th, and the death certificate number. If you checked the reply to "Ishmael reference", further details were there for obtaining obits. Our GenSociety has about 12 active members, each with four or more genealogy assignments. Several of us are in our mid-eighties. We are all engaged in looking up our own family histories, writing books, etc. Newspapers were not computerized in this county of Florida (until 1985). Microfilm search for an obituary, at the Broward Library, entails 45 minutes drive each way, to the Library, often 2 or 3 hours' time on the microfilm reader, printing charges, about $3 parking fees ($1 per hr). The county had two newspapers, with several daily editions in those days, which makes a very tedious search of microfilms, even when the exact date of death is known. Just returned to this site, and saw your last message on this "thread". Even though you probably did not realize how much time and work you were requesting for free, it was not a polite "thankyou", and sounded sarcastic to me. I'm not one of the Floridians who give a stock reply to comments such as yours: "Then why don't you go back to New York?"
