    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: STEVENS, HART, HARTE Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/EZ.2ADI/1207.1 Message Board Post: Dear Tracey You would want to exhaust possibilities of obtaining info from living nieces/nephews and their descendants, related to your subject couple. If you know a middle name or initial for George Stevens, you might be able to find him, or his wife, in a census. If they remained much of their lives in Canada, the census records are more difficult to obtain, but try: http://www.archives.gov.on.ca) You could contact the Broward County Library: 954-357-7444 and "Ask a Librarian" --- to look up old Hollywood, Broward County, Florida city directories, say from 1956 onward. Information in directories could indicate when your subject couple left the Hollywood area, or died. If relatives also lived in Hollywood, the Librarian needs to know their names, as well. If you believe they owned property in the county, the following web site informs how to check deeds, titles --- and of course Probate cases --- if the couple died in Broward County, FL. http://www.rootsweb.com/~flbrowar/howto.html Name Birth Death Last Residence Last Benefit SSN Issued SADIE STEVENS 14 Jun 1892 Nov 1964 (Maine) (none specified) 005-26-4422 Maine SS-5 Letter Last residence is not synonymous with "place of death". George Stevens, with SSN issued in Maine (in case the above Sadie is correct person) offers a couple of choices on SSDI. If memory serves, Social Security began about 1937. Possibly you could obtain SSDI information, even knowing only the full name and exact date of birth: http://ssdi.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/ssdi.cgi Hope this gives you some help. Ruth
