Here is the information I have so far: James J. Kearney (b.1917, d.?) who I believe was originally from New Jersey, married to Audrey Allen (b.?, d.?). I know they both settled in Plantation, confirmed by a known cousin named Bob Kane, who claimed them as his uncle and aunt. I was told that James was a retired FBI agent. James and Audrey had several children who are likely still alive today. They are: -James J. Kearney (b.1948), married a woman named Susan; their children are another James J. Kearney (b.August 23, 1982) and an Eamonn Kearney (b.March 5, 1987). They may have moved to Portland, OR -Kathleen Kearney (b.?), don't know if she married anyone -Carol Kearney (b.February 1947), married Pat Saba; their children are Patrick James Saba and Joseph Saba. -Candace Kearney (b.December 2, 1949), married Ralph Govin; they have two daughters named Marissa and Jamie, and a third daughter whose name we do not have. -Mary Colleen Kearney (b.May 1954), married Bill Flad; don't know if they have children. -Sheila Kearney (b.October 1958), married Raul Martinez; they have a son named Eddie who we know of, and possibly other children. On the SSDI there is a James J. Kearney 27 Aug 1917-5 Nov 2003 died Ft. Lauderdale, Broward, Issued in NJ. In looking the web page for the Sun Sentinel it looks like you can purchase an obituary online for $2.00. I have used this type purchase for other newspapers and it is very easy if you don't mind putting a credit card number on the Internet. You can print out all the obituaries for that day or cut and past the one that you want. I did a quick search in their Archives and the name does appear in Nov 2003 - forgot the date but maybe Nov 8 and in the obituary section so assume it is his obituary. Good luck.
