Seeking information on or descendents of my great grand uncle, Austin Arthur Kaiser, b 1862 in Ontario, and died 1962 in Oak Park, IL. This man was the president of a steel company in Oak Park. His wife was Florence Wagner, born NY 1881-1938. Kaiser was survived by his daughters Suzanne (Richard Jones) of Ft. Lauderdale FL, Elizabeth (Betty) (John O.) The SS application of Fred Hering/Herring indicates that he applied for his SS# in Florida in 1938 with an address of "General Delivery", Coral Springs, FL. As he was from NY, I think that he most likely came to Florida to obtain a divorce. I am not familiar with divorce laws in Florida but have heard that in 1938, NY did not give divorces unless there was adultery involved so often people came to Florida. Was there a residency time limit involved and where would I find divorce records or any record of Fred living in Coral Springs at that time?
