    3. Hi, I'm researching the families of Azmon Bell "A.B." SIMMONS (b. 24 Jul 1854, GA; d. 18 Mar 1915, Alachua Co., FL) and his wife, Martha Susan ABBOTT (b. 2 May 1854, Boston, Thoams Co., GA; d. 5 Aug 1944, Blackshear, Pierce Co., GA). A.B. & Martha were married in December of 1873 in Bradford Co., FL. By 1880 they were living in Alachua Co., FL. Martha was the daughter of James ABBOTT & Susannah (Harriet) MELTON who married in Thomas Co., GA in 1843. James moved his family to the New River/Bradford Co. area c1857. Susannah d. c1865 and James married twice again ( Nancy --?-- and Emily --?--) before he died in the early 1880s. Martha's siblings known to have resided in the Bradford Co. area are: William H. (b. c1844), Harriet (1845), Frances (1847), James (1849), Nancy (1851), Catherine (1856), Ella (1858), Sarah (1861) and Emma (1863). Martha's half-siblings: Margaritte (1873), Lewis (1874) and William (1880). A.B. was the son of Samuel B. SIMMONS and Martha Jane WHITFIELD who married in Thomas Co., GA in 1846. Samuel was killed in 1860. I'm not sure when/if Martha moved to the Bradford area. I have not found any evidence of this family between the 1860 census of Jefferson Co., FL and A.B.'s marriage in Bradford Co. in 1873. I would very much like to know what became of his mother, Martha, as well as his siblings: Thomas (b. c1847), John T. (1848), Harvey (1849), William (1851), Isaac (1856) and Henry (1857). I have quite a lot of information on the ancestors and descendants of these families and would love to find an interested researcher with whom to share it. Kind regards, Jennifer Jacksonville, FL jennifer@leading.net Proud RootsWeb Sponsor+ Join us at GATHOMAS-L, ABBOTT-L, STANALAND-L
