I have the obituary notice for Heathcoe with name of funeral home. Don't have time to locate now I received from Mrs. Thomas I think in Gainesville. Will send when I find. Edmonia was a sister of my grandfather, Jesse Edward Hogarth. From "FLORIDA FROM WHENCE WE CAME" by Helen Minton Burney (granddaughter of Jesse); Gateway Press, 2000, Page 89: Edmonia Hogarth, b. cir.1875, Clay Co.; m. 24 Nov 1897, Clay Co., to William Heathcoe. 2m. Edward Beuldin. Children= (Lawrence A. Heathcoe, b. 26 Oct 1900, Clay Co., d. 17 Nov 1900); Harvey L Heathcoe; Melvin Heathcoe; Merril Heathcoe. Little is known regarding Edmonia, and a check of the 1880 U.S. Census for Clay Co might solve the discrepancy between her birth and marriage dates. Edmonia was called Zulla by her peers. She was reported to have gone to the Plant City area or Tampa after her second marriage. Research in Hillsborough Co censuses might reveal her whereabouts in 1910 and 1920 with this second husband.
