Date of marriage: 1831. Maria/Mariah Parrish died at nearly 100 in 1905 at her home in Hague FL and was buried in the "Hatchett Creek Cemetery", according to the obituary in the Gainesville Sun (see Alachua County Genweb board for Obituaries). Grave not found as yet. Two older Parrish daughters were married to Franklin deSha: Adaline, and after Adaline's death, Eliza Anna. A son mentioned in the obit. was William. This family is in all three Alachua County Census records on line (1850/60/70 but Ezekiel is mispelled Elizabeth in the 1870 record) Maria was a schoolgirl of 14 in Augusta GA (also according to her obit. Without a last name hard to locate in the Richmond County GA area though I have tried using the name Fay/Faye which some researchers have as her last name but no one is sure. Are there Parrish family members out there who are descendants of this woman who can contribute info about her maiden name, background, parents etc? Please and thanks.

I have this info via several different researchers of both Parrish and Monk lines. I don't recall ever seeing the name Hagen before. What is your source. Also, would you like to swap some info. I would like know more about Josiah and his other children.

Percy Leon Thomas, Sr. was the son of Jesse Thomas and Mary Ella Murrhee. He had a younger sister, Jesse Thomas Morgan ( a school teacher in Duval County Florida ) and a brother William "Uncle Bill to me" who married a woman named Grace. Another brother Archibald "Uncle Archer" had a daughter named Clarise. Other brothers may have been Delano, Cullen, Leonard and a sister Eloise. Jesse Thomas was the son of Louisa Wilson (the connection to Jesse Wilson has yet to be confirmed to the best of my knowledge) and William Thomas. Jesse had brothers: William/Willie, Pinkston, Lew Raleigh and Lafayette. A sister Mary. William was the son of a William whose wife was Mary but no last name known. I have no record of other children belonging to this couple. I would like to know more about this line of Thomas' in Duval, Clay, Bradford areas. They may have come originally from South Carolina.

Yours is the first Thomas I have found also with Leon. The information I have on my line suggests that your line may be connected to one of the brothers of Jesse, Percy Leon's father, or William Thomas, his dad. Do you any more info on the name Leon or the family. Bradford, Clay and Duval counties were where my Thomas family were.

My Boyds seem to have come from the Valdosta Georgia area before moving on to Bradford County, Florida. My great-grandmother, Fannie Boyd, had a sister named Sophie born sometime around 1900 in Bradford County. All I know about her is that she lived at various times in Bradford, Union, and Hillsbourgh counties in Florida. Fannie and Sophie's parents were Solomon Boyd and Mattie Brown. If I discover anything on your Sophie Boyd I'll pass it along to you.
