    1. Re: Reunion list from Starling reunion . Is your nmae on here or do you know any of them?
    2. I see three names that relate to my family. Starling, Coleman and Smith. My mother was a daughter of Elbert Ciscero (Roe) STARLING, son of Alexander M. Starling. A.M. STARLING married Elizabeth Piercy COLEMAN, daughter of John Everett COLEMAN. They all came to Texas in the early 1880s. I would appreciate any information you might be able to give me. I think Gid STARLING was related to A. M STARLING. I would really like to have information on the COLEMANS. There is a John E. COLEMAN married Lydia DOUGLASS in 2-6-1840 in Tattmall Co., Ga.. My gr grandmother was born in Ga. 12-5-1840. I have found the COLEMANS in New River Co., Fl, 1860 Census. They are in Columbia Co., Fl. in 1850 Census. I married a Smith. My email address is kudo@txucom.net

    2. Mark: My wife, Brenda Griffis Jackson, is descended from Georgia Ann Padgett. Georgia Ann's son, Andrew Feaster Griffis, was adopted by Red John Griffis when he married Georgia Ann. Andrew's real father was a Green(e) but we have not been able to determine anything else about Mr. Green(e). Which of the children of Red John are you descended from?

    1. Re: Scarboroughs and Goodmans
    2. It sounds as though we are referring to the same Green Goodman. He is buried at Elzey Chapel which is in the general area you've mentioned, being, as I recall, south of Lake Butler. His tombstone as follows: Green B. Goodman Sep 2, 1840 Sep 6, 1918 His Memory Is Blessed Susan's is beside his, as follows: Susan E. Goodman Feb 23. 1835 May 23, 1918 Faithful To Her Trust Even Unto Death nearby is another grave: Mary-Daughter of G. B. Goodman and Susan E. Goodman Died: Sep 7. 1894 Age 27 yrs 3 mo and 10 days I copied these from the tombstones. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of Green or Elizabeth. A Marjorie Driggers in Lake Butler said she had all the genealogy on the Goodmans some years back. I don't know if she is still living or not but you may be able to get some information from the library there in Lake Butler. Did I understand you correctly to say that your Margaret and Green were siblings and that their parents were John T. and Jamr Clement Goodman?

    1. Re: BOYD - NORMAN - STARLINGS - GRIFFIS
    2. My maternal grandparents are Buck and Barbara Griffis of Lawtey/Raiford, FL. Buck died in 1952 and Barbara died in 1958, I believe. They had 10 children, one infant girl died. There are four surviving children of Buck and Barbara. I believe Buck's birth name was Alphonso. he had brothers adn sister, but I have not been able to locate anyone who knows the descendents. Barbara was married once before her marriage to Buck, to a Green(e). They had one daughter, Pearl. I believe Barbara's maiden name was Silcox or Wilcox. She was of Cherokee Indian descent. Please let me know if this helps in our search. . .also the Mayor of Raiford, FL is a Griffis. I do not recall his name. There are a multitude of Griffis' in this area. ~L.

    1. Re: Griffis family
    2. I do not know of a Katie Griffis. But Barbara and Buck Griffis, Raiford/Lawtey, FL had 10 children, born from 1925 thru about 1937. One infant girl died. She was not named to my knowledge. They had 9 surviving children: Jeanette, Robert, Harliss, Eunice, Ethel, Alma, Albert Ray, Pearl and Phillip. Jeanette, Robert, Phillip and Harliss are the only current living children. I am the daughter of Alma Griffis Cole who died in 1982. She was married to Harold Earl Cole, from Chicago. They lived in Green Cove Springs, FL until they both died. A woman by the name of Barbara Ann Griffis, Lawtey/Raiford, FL, did an extensive master's thesis at UF on the Griffis family. They were one of five original settlers in FL. I met her while working at a library while attending UF. Does this help? Please let me know? ~Linda

    1. Re: Rebecca Griffis
    2. I am researching the Griffis and Revels families and I am descended from Rebecca Griffis that married to William Shelby Revels in Putnum Co. in 1854. This Rebecca Griffis was the child of Charles Griffis III and Mary Magdelene Tucker. If anyone has any info about this family, especially the parents of her husband Jerry Revels, I would greatly appreciate it. Lyonal Lindsey
