My 2 g grandfather was a confederate soldier from Fla--Archelaus Hague from Alachua county. In talking with the Fl archive people in Tallahassee, they tell me that I cannot order his military records. I have to hire a researcher to go and find the records and make a copy. They cannot do this. Can this be true? I have requested and received confederate records from Mississippi, Georgia, SC with no problem. They tell me if they have the records and how much it will cost. Does anyone know anyone in Tallahassee I can hire to do this job? He did not receive a pension so he is not on that database list, but I have found him and his military regiment in a book. Sheila from Alaska [email protected]
