I was wondering if you have considered ordering a death certificate from the state. The death certificate usually gives the name of the cemetery, funeral home. exact date of death, next of kin, parents names, etc. You can order a death certificate by sending a five dollar check or money order to: State Office of Vital Statistics Attn: Customer Services Post Office Box 210 Jacksonville, FL. 32231-0042 If you want to know the cause of death you have to expalin you relationship. I think normally you have to be a parent sibling, child, or grandchilde of the deceased. But give it a try anyhow...they may include the cause of death but make sure you send a letter and explain the reason for the death certificate, your relationship. Give them a phone number and address, and then sign the letter. After getting the death certificate, I would then see if there was an obituary printed in the newspaper. I have access to microfilm copies of just about all of the Florida newspapers, but I don't do obituary lookups as a volunteer. Hope this helps, Chris E. Welch Gainesville, FL welchdude@hotmail.com
