Dear List: This information is from the Louisa Historical Magazine, Fall of 1992 Volume , 23, No 2 Contributed by Eugenia Bumpass This Listing of slaves purchased by Matthew Anderson was found in a book entitled History of the Rise and Progress of the Baptist in Virginia, By Robert B.Semple, minister of the Gospel in King and Queen County, Virginia, published about 1810 by friends of the author. This book is now in the possession of Mary Hope Poole. This book is yellowed and weather-beaten and worn with use. some handwriting has faded and is impossible to read.
