Pendarvis, 66, of 2426 Adams St. Granite City, IL died at noon Wednesday, d Apr 10, 1963 at St. Elizabeth Hospital where he was a patient for a week. He had suffered a heart attack. Mr. Pendarvis was retired and had been a carpenter after his retirement. He was born John William Pendarvis b Apr 4, 1897 MS in Escatawpa, Jackson County, MS and lived in Granite City, IL for nine years. He was a member of the Central Christian Church. He is survived by his wife Leona (Jacobs) Pendarvis (MS), a daughter, Mrs. Mabel Parker, Granite City, IL. A brother, G. G. Pendarvis of Portland, OR; five sisters Mrs. Connie (Neil D.) Schafer, Groton, CN; Minnie Pendarvis, Hartford, CN; Mrs. Ann (Ernest) Helm, Bayou Rouge, LA; and Mrs. Gladys (William) Broadus, Prentiss, MS and Mrs. Phillie (Roy Francis) Shafer. ------------------------------------------- Preceding in death by: His parents Joseph James Pendarvis of Escatawpa, Jackson Co., MS. and Mary "Molly" Jones Pendarvis, daughter of John W. Jones and Ann Kennedy-Jones of Jackson County, MS. Two Brothers: Joseph Pendarvis, d April 12, 1956, age 49, buried Robinson Cemetery on Barns Rd., Escatawpa, Jackson Co., MS. and Allen Pendarvis b Dec 5, 1903 d Apr 12, 1956 MS. One Sister: Mrs. Clarisa (Loma) Thigpen, Escatawpa, MS, b July 6, 1901 MS (twin),New Orleans, LA. d. 1938. --------------------- (below from my notes:) His grandparents; James Pendarvis and Nancy Williams-Pendarvis of Alachua County, FL; and John W.
