I want to thank all who replied to my recent inquiry concerning locating land in 1867 Alachua Co. I found Tom Parker's Levy Co site to be an excellent basic 101 on land descriptions. At least I now understand more about sections, townships and ranges. I forgot just how important it is to be aware of the years of county formations within an area of research. I found the online Alachua and Bradford Co Appraiser Website extremely informative, once I became familar with how to extract that data that I needed. What I found was that the particular land that I was looking for in 1867 Alachua Co had become Bradford Co land in 1868. It is a blessing to finally understand where my gggGrandfather owned land in 1867. May we all find more concerning our ancestors in 2003...happy hunting ! Peg
