New Book online (Well most of it. I have 350 out of 429 pages online). Chancery Order Book A contains some divorces, probate cases, mortgage foreclosures and more. The very beginning of the book is a listing of the sale of the Arredondo Grant. The entries beyond that begin on page 70 and are dated 1852. This is a bound book and these are photographs. Some of the pages had really bad bleed through from the writing on the back of the page. I did the best that I could with each page. http://www.clerk-alachua-fl.org/Archive/AncientJ/FrontPage.cfm?BID=281 There is no index, but I almost have this book set up to index and transcribe. I neglected to make sure that the forms would pull up the images. They don't. I'll have to fix that Monday morning. And we now have deed books online up through Deed Book 33. This brings us up to April of 1891. The Grantor portion of Deed Index Books 1-2, 3 and 4 are online. I have them set up to be included in our database using Step 1 of our new Deed Index Project. I believe that these 3 index books cover deed books A through 38. Remember, the real power of our website is that you can make it better. Every little bit helps. http://www.clerk-alachua-fl.org/Archive/CFDocs/VolunHelp.cfm Thanks, Jim Jim Powell Jr Ancient Records Coordinator & Webmaster Alachua County Clerk of the Court Http://www.clerk-alachua-fl.org/archive/default.cfm
