    2. I am looking for info on my g-grandfather Joseph James Pendarvis, b 1866 Alachua County, FL, d Jackson County, MS. He left Florida about 1881 (as written in probate record in Alachua County, FL for James Exley), and was going to Galvston, TX. But his grandson told me yesterday, he went to OK instead. I do not know which county, town, date or who he went with. I have not looked into this new info before, any info or direction would be appreciated. thank you. regards, Pat kendrick_@webtv.com Researching James Pendarvis(d 1867) & Lew/Lewelling/Lewellen Williams(d 1836) of "The Territory of Florida" & Alachua County, FL. and Elijah Creel(d 1899)/Vina? Robertson and J. M. Arnow. The P.K. Yonge Library at the University of Florida apparently has nearly complete runs of the paper for 1865 and 1866 as well as eleven issues for 1867 and one issue for 1873. I don't believe that the 1865 and 1866 issues are on microfilm. It appears to have been the successor to The Cotton States and was itself succeeded by The Alachua Citizen in 1875.
