We have lots of new books online. There is now a total of 179 books on the Clerk's website. Deed books are online through Deed Book 90. Volunteers have completed the index for Deed Books A through W and have moved on to the next Deed Index Book. Seeking information about the James A. CLARK family that was in the 1850 and 1860 Alachua County, Florida census. His wife Annabel or Sarah A. born about 1830 SC died after 1870 children were Albert born about 1848; Mary born about 1851; Martha born 22 November 1852; Sarah born about 1856; John C. C. born about 1859. James A. CLARK supposedly died a CSA prisoner at US Hospital # 2 in Chattanooga, Tennessee during the Civil War.

"BROWN - Mrs. Grace Hughes Brown, 84, of 202 North Hilltop, Brandon, passed away Saturday morning. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from the Brandon Chapel of F. T. Blount Company Funeral Home, 620 East Brandon Boulevard, Brandon, with the Rev. Ross Geiger officiating, assisted by Rev. Emerson Rugh. Active pallbearers will be Mark Singleton, Albert Singleton, Stephen Singleton, Hubbard Singleton, James Branch and Eugene Magee. Honorary pallbearers will be James Cheek, Don Lusk, Joe Wenger, Earnest Seymour, Edward Benson and Walt Dyal. Interment will be in Limona Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m. The family requests that flowers please be omitted and suggest contributions to the Limona Village Chapel United Methodist Church, or to the Guilford College, Greensboro, N.C. A native of Archer, Florida, Mrs. Brown had been a resident of Brandon for 51 years. She was a graduate of Guil! ford College, Greensboro, North Carolina, class of 1913. Mrs. Brown was a charter member of the Limona Village Chapel United Methodist Church. Hamilton Melton Tillis was the sheriff of alachua county in late 1800's . he had gotten into a gun battle with Brack and killed him. he was supposed to be buried in hatchett creek cemetery but I havent found any stones for him or other members of the family . I have copy of old news paper article about the incident. would love to hear from you .
