My adoptive father claimed to be Jackson Whitfield Grimm and I know the Grimm family he claimed as his lived in Gainesville during the 20's . From my research, it's obvious he was not from this family, only using their names (parents) to complete applications, etc. I suspect he crossed paths with one of the children thus giving him the information he needed. I'm in Texas and have not had access yet to the 1930 Alachua County Florida US Census. Is anyone on the list available to this information that would look for the family? I would appreciate any help on this. The names I have on the family are: Anna L. Hays Grimm Verna Lucile Grimm Ward (possibly Edward) Grimm Kenneth Gordon Grimm Charles Franklin (Merle) Grimm Marjorie Grimm Thanks..... _________________________________________________________________ Join the worlds largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com

Hi All, My relative Jane Johnson (Nee Gradic, Graddic) wife of Jasper Johnson died in 1935. She is buried in Gilgal Cemetery. Do any of you know of a Gilgal Cemetery or Church? I suspect it is a church cemetery. I do not reside in the area. Would anyone be willing to take pictures or take down information from Jane Johnson's headstone for me, and those she is buried next to? Jane Johnson was a resident of Johnson, Putnam FL, the undertaker was Lawton Pratt of Palatka, and the informant Mary Johnson lived in Edgar. Jane was the daughter of Andrew and Martha Graddic. Any info appreciated. Also researching: McDonald, Rutledge, Lee, Jones, Hutchinson, Gillens, Givens, Gaskins

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/BZ.2ADI/722.1 Message Board Post: Hello Larry, I checked quite a number of online cemetery indexes and I wasn't able to find a Carles William Spires. I was wondering if you have considered ordering a death certificate from the state. The death certificate usually gives the name of the cemetery, funeral home. exact date of death, next of kin, parents names, etc. You can order a death certificate by sending a five dollar check or money order to: State Office of Vital Statistics Attn: Customer Services Post Office Box 210 Jacksonville, FL. 32231-0042 If you want to know the cause of death you have to expalin you relationship. I think normally you have to be a parent sibling, child, or grandchilde of the deceased. But give it a try anyhow...they may include the cause of death but make sure you send a letter and explain the reason for the death certificate, your relationship. Give them a phone number and address, and then sign the letter. After getting the death certificate, I would then see if there was an obituary printed in the newspaper. I have access to microfilm copies of just about all of the Florida newspapers, but I don't do obituary lookups as a volunteer. Hope this helps, Chris E. Welch Gainesville, FL welchdude@hotmail.com
I am seeking an obit or something that would help me in finding if the date I have for the death of Jake Hersey is correct. His date of death is Nov 1963 in Alachua County, FL. At least that is what the FL death index has. His full name is Jacob Elkanah Hersey...but the death index has it different...has Jake A. Hersey Sr. I know i have received emails and reponses saying I should go for the death record. I plan to..but I would like some help in papers of Alachua county...or something to help me. I would appreciate any help.... Stephanie Grohol
