Enabling researchers to connect from the experience and efforts of previous researchers. Hello, I thought you would like to read this: (copied) Ancestry.com and Rootsweb.com Combine to Offer the Largest Family Trees Database Online Ancestry.com and Rootsweb.com have combined their public family tree databases to create the largest family tree offering available online. All of the family trees currently available through Ancestry World Tree and WorldConnect will now be available from both sites. The combined database will include more than 150 million names once the integration is complete. The combination of these databases makes Ancestry World Tree the largest database of free family trees available online. Although the value of this database will continue to grow as more trees are added, Ancestry.com and Rootsweb are still committed to provide free access to this valuable collection. Additionally, the data submitted to Ancestry World Tree will never be sold online or on CD-ROM, and those who contribute their family trees will always retain ownership of their files. Finding leads and collaborating with other genealogists has never been easier. The combined offering will have all of the functionality Rootsweb users currently enjoy on WorldConnect, which includes more advanced searching options and a number of new reports. These reports include the following: descendancy, register and ahnentafel reports. **************************************** The new implementation will also include "Post-em" notes, which allow users to make comments on the information they find. **************************************** Please take some time to become familiar with the new Ancestry World Tree. We hope your experience will be pleasant. Since this is a new offering, we appreciate your patience as we discover any outstanding issues need to be addressed. The new database includes all active files in the Ancestry World Tree and WorldConnect. The Ancestry World Tree has been available on Ancestry.com since 1997. WorldConnect was launched on Rootsweb in October, 1999. (end)

Unable to verify that 32642 was in Alachua County using local ZIP map and PO ZIP books. Looked in Alachua County Public Library obituary index cards: nothing listed. Looked in Gainesville Sun (local county seat newspaper) October 12-20, 1991: no obituary, no funeral notice. Looked in Florida Death Index (microfiche created by State Bureau of Vital Statistics): Carol Lee Ronan, white male, died Citrus County, DOB 7/22/1894, DOD 10/12/91, certificate number 102985. County seat of Citrus County is Inverness. While some death certificates may be available from county health department, all are available from Florida Bureau of Vital Statistics, POB 210, Jacksonville, FL 32231. For a death certificate, the cost is five dollars. Click here: Florida Vital Records Information - birth or death certificate, divorce records, marriage license, etc Good luck. At that time she and her Husband Francis Ronan were living in Orlando, Florida. I believe Carol L. Ronan to be Carol Lee Ronan who I am looking for. I am trying to determine her connection to the Skipper Families as she was adamant about my Great Aunt Catherine Thebaut and my Great Uncle LeRoy Skipper being her aunt and uncle. Unfortunately no one living has any record to identify who she is. If you are able to come up with an obituary notice it will provide me with possible leads in the following areas: 1) Who the Funeral Director was - (Funeral Directors Notes are second best to a Death Certificate). I will then contact them for those notes and hopefully in the process learn who her parents were and any to the Skipper Families. 2) Surviving Living Kin at the time Usually there are family members still alive now who through the Internet telephone directory I can call. After 62 years of being torn apart the individual Skipper Family Members are pressing me for an answer. For those in their years their is an urgency for them to know so they are pressing me for answers. If you are able please contact me directly at: GBAXTER628@AOL.COM I will respond with phone number and address Gary "Garth" E Baxter Chief Information Officer Skipper Families

Hi list... I did finish placing online Marriaage Books S through W. Books X, Y and part of Z are scanned and will be online early next week. I have also placed Will Book A online. It is not yet attached to a Database that would allow it to be transcribed or indexed online. Maybe I can get to that next week. For those thinking about Volunteering to help index the marriage books. Even one page is a help. One page a day can make a big difference. Thanks, Jim
Hi list... We finally have more marriage book images online. All of the images for Marriage Books M, N, O, P, Q, and R are now online and ready to index. If everything goes well tomorrow Marriage Books S, T, U, V and W will be online and ready to index. That will be somewhere around 5,000 pages. If you want to help and have forgotten your User ID and password, email me and I will send them to you. If you want to help and need a User ID and password, go here... http://www.clerk-alachua-fl.org/Archive/CFDocs/Common/SurInsert.cfm and fill out the form. I will then send you a User ID and Password.
