The Haven or Our Lady of Peace is a wonderful place doing a great service. I had the privilege of doing a Protestant Worship Service for a long while on Sunday afternoons, both when it was still located on the Sacred Heart Hospital compound and in its new place on Summit Blv'd. Interestingly, it is a cooperative venture of both the United Methodist Church and the Catholic Church. Lots of history in those walls. Yesterday I got the thought of asking both the Pensacola News Journal and WEAR to do a public-service piece by interviewing folks in the Pensacola area Retirement homes and Nursing homes just to hear/read some of the history these folks have.
