    3. Hi Everyone, The Escambia County, Florida obituary collection moved today from the shelves in the Escambia, Florida section to the top of the local history/family surname file cabinets on the south wall. Two good things: (1) more room on the shelves and (2) more room to research the obituaries in the area with more tables. Thanks to Jo Ann McKay for taking care of such an important task. Also, Bonnie Walters, today's new volunteer, will begin working on Mondays during the early part of February. Bonnie previously worked at the Huntsville, Alabama library in genealogy and archive-related responsibilities. She's doing Mayflower Society research and is a member of a UDC chapter in Alabama. She has great experience and will be a real help to us all. She was so pleased we needed more volunteers!! Peggy sent off an impressive Georgia order today. Lots of county records, among them Warren, Jefferson, Clarke, Chatham, Hancock, and others.. We'll have to make some more room! Thanks again to all for your cheerful service and generous support. Judy Jolly Genealogy Volunteer

    3. Dear Judy, Thanks for the update on the library. I am still trying hard to get rid of this cold and hoped to go today for my volunteer day but my head is still congested and I am still coughing some. I don't think I could give it to anyone now but I just don't have any energy. I have had it for 15 days and am really tired of this. My son-in-law has the same thing and started about 4 days before me. He went back to the doctor on Monday and was told that there is nothing to do for it except keep warm, rest and drink lots of water. I have the 2007 Obit book finished and am starting on the 2008. I want to have you look at the Nov. & Dec. 2006 obits that were in the box to see if they are duplicates but just haven't had a chance. I did make a quick trip to the library last Sunday to get some books since I was out of good reading material but I came straight back home. I am afraid that I will just have to write January off and hope that February is better!! I try not to get discouraged but I really need to get out and do things. My family have been great while I have been sick and especially my daughter, Pat who calls every day before she leaves work to see if I need anything that she can pick up. Hoping to see you soon.
