The WFGS Board meets tomorrow night. If you are working on a committee for the April WFGS Family History Day and need to have the board take action on anything affecting your committee, let us know before tomorrow night. A few critical issues to consider if the Family History Day is to be successful are: Are additional rooms needed to handle arriving visitors and get them started on filling out a preliminary ancestral chart? If so, have they been reserved? Do you need funding for the reservations? Has anyone been assigned to come up with the ancestral charts? Is funding needed to procure them? Have arrangements been made to have a specific number of census books available to use for lookups at the Family History Day? Have all necessary arrangements been cleared with Bayview for computer use on the day of the event? Has the WiFi link been tested if that is the network connection? Will Bayview computers be used? Have links been loaded into the computers for quick access to Internet sources? Has your committee notified the Material Committee of any needed items like Station Signs (e.g. 1885 Census Lookups, Information, African-American Research Station.) If you plan to make the signs yourselves, do you need funds for materials? David Reinhardt has already begun part of this process by requesting key information. Be sure to let him and his Material Committee know of your needs while he still has time to procure the things you need. There are probably many more issues I haven't listed here and you may already have solved these and other issues. If so, let us know so we can go worry about something else. We have only one more WFGS meeting before the Family History Day so let us know if your committee needs help on any issues. Jerry Merritt
