The complete program will be approximately two hours and will cover how to get started, how to piece together family lineages from seemingly unrelated clues, and how to put together a road map to doing your own personal family history. It will even include tips on how to trace your paternal and maternal lines back to specific locations in Africa. It will also include examples of African American research done recently by volunteers for beginning researchers at the Genealogy Library. A tour of library facilities will follow the presentation and, for those who already have enough information to get started, volunteers will work with them in beginning to find and document their family's history.
