However, I DO have a couple of holes in there and some unknowns. Can you give me a little more information? What area? Who were her parents? Siblings? Anything that might help me search what I have. I'm still looking for the website I thought this info was on. If I find it, I'll send you the URL. Of course I don't find marriage records. It would be nice but some things just don't seem possible. 2. Hi Everyone, I am speaking for the first time to the group due to some critism . I have been observing and learning about my roots from several links for three weeks now and know that each one has it's own style and character. I f a person is willing to listen and learn there is much to be gained from all of them. I may not know the proper way to enter or speak to all groups, I am new at research on a computer, but each group has been warm and friendly if you keep an open mind and don't spend a lot of time trying to judge them according to the way you want people to do. Just keep up the good work. Grandma L

    1. List activity and replies
    2. KEITH LOWREY
    3. Hi to all on the FIVECIVILTRIB-L, I don't want to undermine the site owner but there seems to be very little activity on this list, and it operates the way that I like one to operate, i.e. a reply to a querey goes back to the individual that sent the original message. That way, people aren't bothered by things that are of no interest. However, I formerly subscribed to the CherokeeGene-L and it worked differently. It took me awhile to get used to it and I really didn't care for the way that it operated. But, after I made a few comments, I found that most of the people liked it so I shut up. On that list, all replies go back to the list. That was, if some one made an inquirey about some Walkingstick relatives and someone else responded with a reply, everyone of the list saw the answer and maybe there were others who were looking for Walkingsticks. There was a lot of activity and a lot of people who had lots of roll information and books, like "Those that Cried", the 16,000 on the Trail of Tears. As a result, there were people getting help, but then they would turn around and send a message like" Jeanie, thank you so much for your help", The list owner tried to get that type of message sent privately back to the individual,, and tried to thank the contributors publicly so the list wouldn't be filled with a lot of non-genealogy stuff. It did get tiresome to read, especially when people didn't put any subject i.e. Reply to Milicent Zylch. Again, I don't mean to undermine this list, but there seems to be so little activity that maybe the owner might consider having all replies go back to the list and build up some more subscribers. Otherwise, I would recommend checking this URL out to see if their is a Choctaw list or another one that may also be of interest to you. <http;//www.rootsweb.com/~maillist/ Keith Lowrey, going back to minding my own business and trying to find another ISP. Good Luck to All

    3. There is a Chatah-Choctaw list. My web site, Broken Threads, has it linked under "Native American Resources" which can be reached by clicking on "Links" on my first page. Just click on their link and I remember the first page tells about the new list. I am new to this list but ordinarily reply to anything if I have the information or resources. But, my brother died and I am away from home. I will do better soon. Shirley

    2. Linda
    3. Information I've come into on my GGG-Grandmother Minerva C Moon says she is 1/2 Cherokee. Minerva was born in 1839 possibly Cobb Co GA and married John Hill Jr of Hall Co GA. They lived in Cobb Co GA> Winston Co AL> Walker Co AL. Minerva died in Walker Co Al in 1909. I haven't found Minerva on census before she was married in GA, to date, and I'm in hopes someone out there will be able to tell me who her parents and family are. Any clues?
