September 4, 2002 Kansas City Star Kansas City, Missouri LeRoy C. Fitzwater, age 80, Raymore, MO, passed away Monday, September 2, 2002, at Forum Nursing Home. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, September 5, at Sheil Colonial Chapel. Burial in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to your local hospice or cancer charity. Mr. Fitzwater, was born December 8, 1921, in Crooked River, MO. He was a lifelong area resident and member of the 1st Christian Church of Belton. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and European Theater. He was a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post 4242, an Honorary member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say, United Steel Workers. Employed by Armco Steel for 33 years. He is survived by two sons, Dale Fitzwater and wife Kathy, Corinth, TX, David Fitzwater and wife Patti, Raymore, MO. A dear friend, Leola Sands, Basehor, KS, two sisters, Mary Cox, Sunrise Beach, MO, Dora Parker, North Kansas City, MO, two granddaughters, and one great-granddaughter.
