Fitzwater, 96, of Williamsburg went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2005, at The Brier Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Ronceverte. Born June 6, 1909, in Caldwell, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Ada G. Coulter Bostic. She was a member of Victory Temple, Rupert, a former waitress and was an assembly line worker for a weight scale manufacturer. She loved gardening and sewing and was a wonderful and generous mother, grandmother and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Walter Fitzwater; two sons, Gaylord and Walton Fitzwater; a stepdaughter, Mildred Goldsmith; a stepson, Paul Fitzwater; four sisters, Edith Campbell, Opal Napier, Vallie Parsons and Violet Lucas; and two brothers, Glen and Neil Bostic. Survivors: daughters and a son-in-law, Rhonda Lewis of Statesville, N.C., June Chrisman of Ronceverte, and Dreama and Robert Thomas of Williamsburg; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry Bruce and Janet Fitzwater of Girard, Ohio, and Merlin and Brenda Fitzwater and Tilson Fitzwater, all of West Frankford, Ill.; stepson, Harold Fitzwater of Massachusetts; 45 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home, Lewisburg, with the Rev. Felix Baker officiating. Burial will be in Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home, Lewisburg, is in charge of arrangements.
