12 August 2005 The Shenandoah Valley Herald Woodstock, Virginia Mary Virginia "Ginny" Caricofe, 82, of 696 North Liberty Street in Harrisonburg, died on Thursday, August 11, 2005 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient for the past two days. She was born July 21, 1923 in Rockingham County and was the daughter of the late John and Jennie Fitzwater Albrite. Ginny was a lifetime resident of this area, a member of the Brethren Church, and worked at the Salvation Army for over 21 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, George William Caricofe, Jr., a son, George William Caricofe, III, and a grandson, Neil Allen Caricofe. Surviving are two sons, Leonard Earl Caricofe of North Carolina, Richard Allen Caricofe of Hagerstown, Maryland, three daughters, Mildred Moyers and Judy Caricofe, both of Harrisonburg, and Evelyn Ropp of Woodstock, Georgia, one brother, Tom Albrite of Harrisonburg, one sister, Beatrice Knopp of Harrisonburg, nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. Graveside services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Bridgewater by Pastor Bernard Fuska. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7-8 p.m. at the Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg. Friends may also call at the home of Mildred Moyers following the service.
