November 15, 2001 Charleston Daily Mail Charleston, West Virginia Homer Alden Fitzwater Homer Alden Fitzwater, 95, of Ivydale, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, at Braxton County Memorial Hospital. He was born on Aug. 25, 1906, to Silas Edward and Rosa Fitzwater. He was a farmer, worked in well drilling, logging, lumber, and attended Ottervale Baptist Church, Ivydale, W.Va. He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella. Survivors include sons, Charles E. Fitzwater and Byron Fitzwater of Lizemores, James A. Fitzwater of Morristown, Tenn., and Versal of Bridgeport, W.Va.; daughters, Nina M. Barnes of Mansfield, Ohio, and Elsie M. Friend of St. Albans, W.Va.; brother, Ray Fitzwater of Boomer, W.Va.; sister, Pearl Walker of Big Chimney, W.Va.; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at 11 a.m. at Carl Wilson Funeral Home, Clay, with Minister Darrell Mollohan officiating. Burial will follow at the Moore Cemetery, Wallback, W.Va. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
