Fitzwater, 80, of Martinsburg, died Friday, May 30, 2003, at Carehaven of Berkeley. Born Oct. 1, 1922, in Bramwell, W.Va., he was the son of the late Lewis and Della Tackett Fitzwater. He retired from General Motors in Flint, Mich. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy Witt Fitzwater; a sister, Shirley Bernstein of Collidge, Ga.; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother. A graveside service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery, Bluewell, W.Va. The family will receive friends today from 4 to 6 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.
