October 3, 2002 Daily Independent Newspaper Ridgecrest, California Ms. Fitzwater was born in Augusta, Ga. on April 5, 1949. She was active with the Veterans of Foreign War, enjoyed camping, traveling, knitting, sewing, arts and crafts and music, according to her family. Ms. Fitzwater was a homemaker at the time of her death. She is survived by her companion, Robert Guinn of Ridgecrest; her daughter, Becky Gordon of Redmond, Wash., her daughter Darci Fitzwater of Canyon Country; her son, Mike Atkins of Everett, Wash., her stepson Joey Guinn of Dale City, Va.; her father Jack Ramsey of Ridgecrest; grandmother Gracy Ramsey of Texas; her aunt, Rubye Ramsey of Alabama; and her uncle Bill Ramsey of Alabama. Her daughter, Toni N. Guinn; mother Nora Ramsey and brother Jack Ramsey Jr. preceded her in death. Five grandchildren survive Ms. Fitzwater. A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002 at 1 pm in Holland & Lyons Chapel. Pastor Jim Weston of the Desert Christian Center will officiate. The family has requested a private visitation for family only. Private cremation and arrangements are by Holland & Lyons Mortuary.
