Surviving are his children, Norma Jean Schmelzle of Ogdensburg, Audrey Johnson of Canton, LaRue and Alden, both of Canton, Don of Troy, and Kermit of Syracuse; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a brother. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and one hour prior to the funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday at the Pepper Funeral Home in Canton. Burial will be in Beech Flats Cemetery.
