In your private message to me you indicated that you had extracted copies of the will in the 1950's. But to answer your questions anyway, for the benefit of others who may not have this information & might wish to seek their own documentation: The marriage of Thomas Fishwater (sic) & Augusta Stiles is recorded at the Hamilton Co. OH Courthouse in the Restored Marriage records (restored following the 1884 fire & other previous fires) as occurring on September 9, 1832. This marriage is also referred to in a typescript “Marriage Records Hamilton County, Ohio 1817-1837” copied by the Cincinnati Chapter, National Society Daughters Of The American Revolution which also indicates that the marriage was preformed by T. Rich a Justice of the Peace (This is likely Thomas Rich who lived in the area now part of Loveland Hamilton Co., OH but then part of Symmes Twp., Hamilton Co., OH & according to a partial list in Ford's 1882 History of Hamilton Co., OH was a JP 1829 in Symmes ) & “Selected Counties of Ohio, 1789-1850 Marriage Index" CD # 400 available for purchase or by subscription from Family Tree Maker. I am sure that there are other publications of Hamilton Co., OH marriage records which refer to ! this marriage as well. The following census records in Ohio list Thomas & Augusta Fitzwater & the children as listed in Augusta's will. I won't give details here, but can upon request: 1850 Clermont Co., Miami Twp. pg. 120 visit 965/965 1860 Clermont Co., Miami Twp. pg. 215 visit 112/116 1870 Warren Co., Harlan Twp., PO Pleasant Plain pg 1(pg 328) visit 2/2 1880 Warren Co., Harlan Twp., ED 72 pg 321A visit 121/124 As to Augusta Stiles parentage, much research by myself & others has gone into researching the family of Benjamin Stiles & Margery Brewster. This board is not the place to list that information, nor do I think there would be many who read here that would find it of interest unless they had a specific interest in the family of Thomas Fitzwater & Augusta Stiles. For those who would like information regarding the current Stiles research, they may contact me privately. I like to clarify what I know of relationships mentioned in documents I find as often there are others who may be interested as well. As to Thomas Fitzwater's "exact date of death", I do not know. As I stated in my previous post, I have seen & also may have a copy here somewhere, of what was recorded in Warren Co., OH records. I can say with certainty that both Augusta & Thomas's death were recorded on the same date with information given by their daughter Sarah Stiles. This record was recorded some time after the date given for both death's & I think there was some disagreement between what was recorded here & what is listed as Augusta's death in her probate records. As I also stated in my previous post, by both Augusta's will & the probate records, there is every indication that Thomas died before Augusta. Because of other family obligations needing my immediate attention & my work schedule, it will be several weeks before I can contemplate a trip to Lebanon to seek a copy of the above record for the details of what is written about Thomas' death to comply with your request of an exact death date, if that is indeed what your intentions are in your response to my posting. If you have records giving Thomas' death date, perhaps you would care to share them with the rest of us who are interested in this individual? Linda Boorom
