Mr. Sherman was born Aug. 19, 1925, in Moorefield, W.Va., and was the son of the late George Willis Sherman and Eda Fitzwater Sherman. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Tannery Chapel. He was a graduate of West Virginia University and Columbia University in New York where he obtained his Masters Degree. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army and was employed for over 31 years in the Government Affairs office of the Arabian American Oil Company in Saudi Arabia. He was a member of Moorefield Masonic Lodge for more than 50 years. Surviving are four sisters, Mary Frances Groves of Petersburg, W.Va., Hazel Miller of Baltimore, Md., Alice Godlove of Winchester and Betty Ours of Arlington, and several nieces and nephews. The Rev. Catherine Jackson will conduct the funeral 3 p.m. Saturday at the Moorefield (W.Va.) Presbyterian Church. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Olivet Cemetery in Moorefield, W.Va. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Elmore Funeral Home in Moorefield, W.Va. Memorial contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Church Tannery Chapel.
