September 8, 2004 The Paintsville Herald Paintsville, Kentucky James William "Bill" Fitzwater 1937-2004 Funeral services were held Sunday, September 5, 2 p.m. at the Southside Free Will Baptist Church for James William "Bill" Fitzwater, of Paintsville, KY, who passed away Thursday, September 2 at Paul B. Hall Medical Center in Paintsville. Mr. Fitzwater was born July 22, 1937 in Clark County, Ohio, son of Carrie Ballenger and the late Stanley Nelson Fitzwater. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a maintenance worker at Prestonsburg Community college. Surviving in addition to his mother are, his wife, Virginia Sue Hensley Fitzwater; three daughters, Sheryl Lynette Pemberton of Mechanicsburg, Ohio, Tonika Darlene Sluss and Bonika Sueann McCoy, both of Paintsville, KY; four sisters, Nancy Laufler of San Diego, CA, Gail Blaine of Zenia, OH, Edith Lisch, and Patricia Parkinson, both of Springfield, OH; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The service was officiated by Wayne Price and Gary Michael Roe, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville, KY.
