June 1, 2003 Martinsburg Journal Martinsburg, West Virginia Charles E. Fitzwater Martinsburg - Charles E. Fitzwater, 80, of Martinsburg, died Friday, May 30, 2003, at Charehaven of Berkeley. Born Oct. 1, 1922, in Bramwell, WV., he was the son of the late Lewis and Della Tackett Fitzwater. He was retired from General Motors in Flint, Mich., and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy Wilt Fitzwater; a number of nieces and nephews, including David and Billie Hurst, of Hedgesville, and Rick and Margaret Morgan, of Cape Charles, VA.; and one sister, Shirley Bernstein, of Collidge, Ga. He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. A graveside service will be held at 2 p. m. Monday, June 2, 2003, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Bluewell, WV. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Brown Funeral Home.
