19 July 2005 The Charleston Gazette Charleston, West Virginia Lanty "Buck" Foster Lanty Lewis "Buck" Foster, 83, of Mount Lookout, Nicholas County, died Monday, July 18, 2005, in the Nicholas County Health Care Center. Born Nov. 14, 1921, at Nallen, Nicholas County, he was the son of the late Newman B. and Lola Fitzwater Foster. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Foster; and a brother, Linden Foster. He attended Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Mount Lookout, was a member of the UMWA, loved hunting and fishing, and was a Navy veteran of World War II, having served aboard the USS Shamrock Bay. Survivors include his wife, Goldie Wade Foster; four daughters, Sally Tyree and Karen Rogers, both of Craigsville, Nancy McClelland of Apex, N.C., and Jackie Copenhaver of Summersville; two sisters, Lenora Holliday of Cape Coral, Fla., and Leota Hankins of Vero Beach, Fla.; two brothers, Lonnie of Mount Lookout and Landon of Warren, Ohio; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Mount Lookout, with Pastor Eddie Groves and Pastor Phillip Lilly officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
