Costs have also been firmed up. She says the soft cover book will now sell for $65 or so, plus shipping, and the leather will sell for $100 or so, plus shipping. My ggg-grandfather was named George Fitzwater and he was married to a Nancy. They were married on March 23, 1819. The information was written in this bible by there son Thomas a few weeks after George's death. I am looking for more information on this George. A history book of Nicholas indicates that Capt. George Fitzwater is the same person as my ggg-grandfather, but I have found other records that indicate differently. Anyone who can help me figure this out would be greatly appreciated. Please email me.

I first had thought that she was from West Virginia and she still may have been but now I am finding out that she could have been from Ohio. The only information that I can give you is that she married John Valentine, and they had quite of few children of which one is my great grandmother Bertha Valentine Forsythe Rogers. The only thing that I know about her is that she was said to have been Jewish. I appreciate any information. Thanks, fsmith@nctr.fda.gov

I have that Eli Fitzwater appeared in Texas sometime in 1860, after his stint with the Texas Rangers he met Mattie sometime later and they had a kid named Tom. Mattie is listed in the 1880 census living with her mother Catherine Callaway and they are both widows, with young Tom being listed as a Farmer. So does anyone out there have any information about Eli? Or even what happened to Mattie before and after the 1880 census? I welcome all responses--Dave
