I take it you got his fathers name from his marriage to Nellie Beard 1924(cert). All I can add is possible matches for marriage to Alice, if he married in UK, 1910 Newport M to Alice M Jenkins, 1911 Litchfield to Alice M Otley, or 1920 Southwark to Alice McVee. From the freebmd.
