Glad to see your post here. I am descended through George Fitzgerald 1775 md. Anna Butler who is bur. in Linn County, Iowa. This may be the family that you are referring to as in the mid-west. We are trying to prove our lineage back to your George b. 1739 VA. - but are not finding any listings with him having our George. b. 1775. The year works in with the list of his other children - but he is not recorded as son. Do you have that your George Fitz 1739 is bur. in Hamilton Co., Illinois? We are trying to figure this out right now with a cousin going to the Farm Cemetery - in shambles - and putting information together. Her father told her that buried there was George Fitz the Rev. War soldier. This would have to be George of 1739 because our George was b. 1775. Lots of puzzle pieces but maybe we can all work together and straighten it out. I would really be interested in seeing what! had been submitted to the DAR. We spoke to a cousin many years ago who said that her Mother had submitted some information - but where did she get the proof is what we would like to know. Would love to hear back from you. Thank you for the research you have done in proving your line. Carolyn & Garlan Fitzgarrald Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
